Designed by young people for young people, Young Champions is a peer mentoring program based at the Youth Centre on Thursday nights.

Mentors and young people get together fortnightly on Thursday nights and participate in sports, games, and art activities. Meet new people, learn new skills and chat to a mentor who's also a young person just like you!

Dates  : 16 Feb and 2, 16 & 30 March

Time   : 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Venue : Cockburn Youth Centre, 25 Wentworth Pde, Success

Age     : Open to anyone aged 10 to 24 years

Would you make a good role model for young people? Do you want to give back to the community?  Apply to be a Young Champions Mentor (Applications close 8 Feb).

Anyone can apply to be a mentor regardless of whether or not you have experience working with young people. Full training will be provided. Please note this is a volunteer position.


Mentors must be:

  • 18 to 35 years old
  • Willing to obtain a current Working With Children card (if 18  years or older)*
  • Willing to complete a National Police Check*
  • Attend Mentor Training Day prior to start of the program (13 Feb)
  • Available to attend the Mentoring Program on 16 Feb & 2, 16 & 30 March 6pm - 9pm at the Cockburn Youth Centre

 * Any processing costs incurred will be reimbursed
