Australia Day Coogee Beach Festival

26 January 2017 (8am - 12pm)

Coogee Beach Reserve, Powell Rd, Coogee

Celebrate Australia Day Cockburn-style and enjoy a free sausage sizzle on us! Plus there's free entertainment for the whole family including:

  • Watermelon eating competition- (win double movie passes)
  • Bring your own watermelon helmet (win a $100 Coles/Myer voucher)
  • Sandcastle building competition (win one adult season pass to Adventure World)
  • Performance by Bindjareb Middars 
  • Aboriginal basket weaving
  • Water Slides
  • Performance by Billie Court
  • Performances by Some Like it Yacht
  • Roving Entertainers
  • Australia Day Ambassador, member of the Rio Olympic Women's Synchronised Swimming Team, Deborah Tsai
  • Bike Dr will be there from 8am to 10am giving your bike a quick check-up and adjustment for free. Free bike parking will be available at the tennis courts nearby so you can safely leave your bike and enjoy the festival or beach.

Don't forget to bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water bottle bathers and a towel and some cash for food stalls as there are no EFTPOS/ATM facilities available.

Parking and Access

Parking is limited on the day so please consider public transport or Ride your Bike! Powell Road access closed. 

5am 1pm; parking for this event is opposite the beach off Cockburn Road and at Coogee Hall off Howick Court.

Access to Coogee Beach Cafe and regular beach goers parking is via Peri End through Orsino Boulevard.

C'mon Cockburn, show us what you've got! Calling all amateur entertainers to be part of Cockburn's Got Talent.

Success Community Concert

25 February 2017 (7pm - 9.30pm)

Success Regional Sporting Facility, Hammond Reserve, Hammond Rd, Success

Featuring support act by the Fisherboys and MC Tyrone Thwaites.

Free shuttle service: Concert goers can catch a bus from Cockburn Central train station (from stand 6 with display route 680) to Hammond Reserve bus stop from 5.30pm to 7.25pm (2 buses at 5 min intervals) and catch a lift back to the train station from 9pm to 10.55pm (2 buses at 5 min intervals).

Don't forget to bring, insect repellent, picnic blanket, chairs and cash as there are no EFTPOS/ATM facilities available.

Food and drink will be available to purchase on site. If you can don't forget to ride your bike to the event!

Salty Fest - Coogee Maritime Dive Trail launch

26 February 2017 (10am - 2pm)

Cnr Socrates and Napoleon Parades, North Coogee

Celebrate the official opening of the underwater dive and land-based trail!

Bring your bathers and join us beside the seaside. This exciting event is fun for the whole family and includes:

  • Diving and snorkelling the trail
  • Stilt walkers
  • Live music by Barefoot Sojourns and The Lost Quays
  • Face painting
  • Monsterball soccer
  • Live streaming underwater footage
  • Maritime and diving displays
  • Market stalls
  • Food and drink available to purchase on site

Remember to slip slop slap and bring your diving/snorkelling gear, bathers and towel. This is an alcohol and smoke-free event.

Hello Baby is a free community event which provides information, support and entertainment for parents and babies.  This events includes:

  • 10 baby book vouchers being given away to celebrate our 10th year
  • Free raffle
  • Certificate for baby, parenting calendar, music, parent massage and activities for all
  • Information on parenting, health, childcare and Cockburn Early Years
  • Subsidised toddler lunch packs

Bring the family and be inspired by all the diversity of foods and flavours, tradition and culture right here on your doorstep!

You can get hands-on with arts and crafts, be entertained by Cockburn's Got Talent or learn about sustainability. Come and support local business.
