Free healthy lifestyle programs including HEAL, BEAT IT, HeartMoves, Nordic Walking and more are available for Cockburn residents who are not in the fulltime workforce, are at risk of weight-related chronic disease, are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and/or single parents. Also, available to everyone, are Heart Foundation Walking Groups and health screens at certain community events. Co-Health is part of the Healthy Communities Initiative funded by the Australian Government.
It is important for everyone to be active and to eat 2 fruit and 5 veg everyday to remain in good health and achieve and maintain healthy weight. There are many ways to include physical activity into your day such as recreational activity, for example walking groups, organised sport, and active transport (also known as "travelling smart").
