Local Government Act Of 1995

The Local Government Act is the main Act of Legislation that the City of Cockburn, along with all Councils in WA and Australia, must adhere to and be responsible for operating within the perimeters set by the Act.

The Act is comprised into two main sections - PARTS and SCHEDULES. The PARTS is the first section which comprises of nine main parts with each part containing different divisions and subdivisions. The second section, SCHEDULES is broken down into different provisions, powers and other specific areas.
