Cockburn Seniors Centre hosts a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses. Please see our current timetable (ongoing regular classes and activities) and activities guide (short courses, events and outings).

About the Cockburn Seniors Centre

The Cockburn Seniors Centre is a membership based centre for people aged 50 and over who live within the City of Cockburn.
It provides a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses . These include:

  • Meals - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at midday (pre-order before 10am)
  • Café - Tuesday and Thursday 9am –1pm. (orders from 8.30am til 12.45pm)
  • Services - a centre-based hairdresser and naturopath (available by appointment)
  • Transport - a van shuttle service is available for members who are transport disadvantaged - bookings required (assessed service)
  • Computer Room - computers/iPads and free WiFi available for members to use.

Become a member 

Membership to Cockburn Seniors Centre is $50 for one year. Memberships run from 1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024.

Members enjoy access to:

  • Centre activities that range from free to up to a maximum of $10 per class
  • Outings (prices vary)
  • Meals $12 for two courses, plus tea/coffee and/or main course only $9

Outings Booking Conditions

  • Outings are available for members only
  • Payment must be made at time of booking for all outings
  • Bookings can be made for a maximum of two people (yourself and one other member) (full name is required of the member you are booking on behalf of)
  • Apologies, but cancellations cannot be refunded

Kalamunda Musical - 1970’s – 1990’s Melodies

  • Wednesday 1 May
  • 9am - 3.30pm

Arrive at Kalamunda Performing Arts to enjoy morning tea and a spectacular show with Matt Cal presenting a look back in time across the favourite songs that influenced his approach to song writing. Come celebrate the music of Men at Work, Johnny Cash, Paul Kelly, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson and many more. Then we head to the Last Drop Hotel for a delicious lunch and relaxing atmosphere in the Kalamunda hills.

Azelia Ley Homestead & Museum/Carrington Bar & Grill

  • Tuesday 7 May
  • 9.30am - 3pm
  • Outing Cost - $40.50
  • Moderate to high walking involved   

Enjoy a tour of The Azelia Ley Homestead Museum and its associated outbuildings located at Manning Park, Hamilton Hill. The heritage listed residence was built between 1920 and 1923 for Azelia Ley (nee Manning) and offers a glimpse into the life of a prosperous settler family who were living in the Cockburn district.

The homestead was restored by government funding, Council support, and community effort in the early 1980s, and was officially opened as a museum on the 12 November 1983.
Visitors to the Museum can see a curated collection of furniture, clothing, photographs, paintings, toys, memorabilia and historical artefacts.
 
Then we are off to the Carrington Bar and Grill for a delicious lunch.

Enjoy a relaxing day out at Carousel Shopping Centre. Shop until your hearts content with all the shopping outlets providing a great variety for all to see. Purchase your lunch from one of the many food outlets in the food court. Happy shopping.
