Alleged sexual assault at Aubin Grove park

The City's response to Channel 7 and 9 news about an alleged sexual assault at Banksia Eucalypt Woodland Reserve, Aubin Grove, 3.1.25

The City of Cockburn regards the safety and wellbeing of our community as our highest priority.
 
As part of our ongoing commitment to work in partnership with residents, businesses, WA Police and other authorities to improve community safety, we want all our public spaces to be safe and welcoming, where families and residents can feel confident spending time outdoors.
 
We evaluate all requests and feedback from our residents when working together to make our community safer including CCTV, lighting and other security measures.
 
Since the incident, the City has:
  • Deployed a mobile CCTV trailer to the area
  • Increased CoSafe (Community Safety) patrols of the area
  • The City of Cockburn Community Safety team will attend the area on the morning of Friday 3 January to provide personal and home safety information to residents and users of the area.
As this is a serious police matter we encourage residents to provide any relevant information to help with the investigation by calling Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 and WA Police on 131 444.
