Sand Rider Beach Wheelchair Hire

With free hire of beach wheelchairs along the Cockburn coastline and the provision of beach matting at Ngarkal Beach, our coastline can be accessed by people of all abilities.

The Sand Rider Beach wheelchair can be hired for free and is available for use at Ngarkal Beach, Port Coogee Marina. The Sand Rider Beach wheelchair is not a floating wheelchair so one adult must be present to assist the user. This wheelchair can only be used on sand up to the water’s edge.

When is the wheelchair available to hire?

  • Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 10am to midday during summer when lifeguards are patrolling the beach.

How do I book?
