The Cockburn Youth Centre is open to young people aged 10–24 (the month they turn 10 but not earlier). 

Holiday programs, apart from Youth Diversity Inc. programs, are for 10–17 year olds. 

Spaces are limited and bookings are required for all programs.

  Iron-on Tees Get crafty creating your very own custom t-shirt design. Must BYO t-shirt.  Free 1-4pm
Wednesday
25 September		 Potions and Lotions Mix up your very own natural care products. Previous projects have included hand cream, lip balms and face scrubs.  Free 1-3pm
  RPG Game Let our game masters take you on a quest of might and magic.  Free 10am-4pm
  FIFA Tournament Our gaming tournaments are epic! Challenge young people and our team at FIFA on the PS5. Do you have the skills to take out top spot?  Free 11am-2pm
Thursday 26 September Stencil Art Use aerosols and cutting tools to create some next level stencil art with our resident artist. (Ages 12-17) Free 1.30-5pm
  Mask Making Join James and create your very own custom mask ready for Halloween.   Free 2-5pm
  Money Management Workshop Manage your money before it manages you! Join us and learn the basics of money management in real world situations. (Ages 13-16) Free 11am-1.30pm
Friday 27 September Weekly Wellness Float into CYC and get your weekly dose of wellness. This program may include yoga, meditation, journaling, stretching and wellness discussion.   Free 2-4pm
  Bike hike, bubble soccer and board games An afternoon full of choices! Play some bubble soccer, explore around Cockburn on a bike and get involved with some serious board game action.  Free Midday-4pm
  Studio Sessions  Get some one-on-one recording time with our music magician, Joe. Bookings are essential, to apply please email us [email protected]  Free Midday-6pm
Saturday 28 September Barista Basics Join our resident barista legend Mason to learn the fine art of working a coffee machine.  Free 9.30-10.30am
  Confident Coffee Slingers Join our resident barista legend Mason to learn the fine art of working a coffee machine.  Free 11am-midday
  Tabletop Guild Join our Games Masters for some serious tabletop gaming action.  Free Midday-4pm
Monday 30 September Cooking Join the crew at CYC in the kitchen and create some tasty treats.  Free 11am-1pm
  Ping Pong Tournament The ultimate paddle battle! Play your way to the top and challenge our resident table tennis masters.  Free 1-3pm

Wednesday 2 October Craft with Phil Join Phil for a crafternoon at CYC. Past projects have included mosaics, dream catchers and custom painted mugs. Free 2-4pm
  Job Skills 101 Get job ready with job skills 101. Learn how to write a resume and cover letter, get some tips on job applications and build some interview skills.   Free 3-5pm

Thurday 3 October Lino Printing Carve out lino and make your own stamp style artwork. (Ages 12-17).  Free 1.30-5pm

  Mario Kart Tournament Join us as we fire up the Nintendo Switch for some Mario Kart 8 action.  Free 10am-midday

Memberships

Our Youth Centre memberships are free but are mandatory for anyone using the Centre. You can become a member by filling out a membership form in person at the Youth Centre or complete the below form.

Program Bookings

For programs with a cost, bookings can be made in person at the Youth Centre or by calling 08 9411 3888.
Spaces may be limited and we recommend calling ahead and checking if spaces are available. If you are experiencing financial hardship, speak to a staff member and we can work something out for you. 

Personal Belongings and Food

During the school holidays we may provide lunch; however it is best to come prepared. We have a fridge and secure lockers for storing personal belongings. Each person must be responsible for their own belongings.

Hang Out

Our free program and hangout spaces are open to everyone. Equipment incudes basketballs, X-box, PlayStation, pool table, ping pong, books, slackline and Foozball.

Program rules

Please abide by the following rules and do not:

  • Behave or speak in a racist or sexist manner
  • Verbally abuse or threaten anyone
  • Behave in a violent or aggressive way
  • Carry any weapons at any time
  • Deliberately damage any property
  • Take any drugs, drink or smoke. Please note that anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to attend

You may be removed from the Youth Centre if you breach the rules.
