The Small Events Sponsorship Program funds small-scale community events across Cockburn, such as movie nights, pop-up cafés, Christmas carols, food swaps, and fetes, enabling organisations to bring neighbourhoods together.
To apply, you must be:
- An organisation based within the City of Cockburn or primarily servicing the City’s residents.
- Incorporated not-for-profit organisations, including sporting, welfare, educational, arts/cultural, youth, seniors, children, ethnic, and related groups.
- Currently established and can demonstrate a high level of community support.
Funding of up to $3,000 is available per application.
The sponsorship can cover running costs, equipment and venue hire, marketing and promotion, entertainment, and supplier costs.
Applications are accepted
all year-round.

- Consultation: Before applying, discuss your proposal with the Community Development Team to ensure alignment with sponsorship criteria.

Please note:
- Applications will be assessed and applicants notified of the outcome within one month.
Limitations and conditions
Before applying please ensure you are aware of the following:
- Funding will not be provided to private organistions/businesses or non incorporated, not for profit associations.
- Funding is granted as a single instance of support, without a promise of future funding.
- Funding will not be provided for projects or events that:
- Replicate existing local services or activities.
- Have already taken place.
- May divide communities by denigrating, excluding, or offending community group.
- May present a hazard to the community or environment.
- Relates to political campaigns or lobbying.
- Applicants who have previously received funding must have fully accounted for that funding before submitting a new application.
- Schools and educational groups must show the project meets a community need, occurs outside of regular school activities and hours, and includes a contribution of at least 50% financial or in-kind.
- Applicants must be financially stable and prove they can effectively manage the event.
- Applicants must demonstrate the ability to manage their affairs effectively, ensuring the successful execution of the event.
- Applicants can receive funding for up to two different projects per financial year from separate funding programs, as long as they are not for the same project.
- Funding does not cover personal items, food consumables, or catering costs.
