Youth Justice Mentoring is a State Government-funded program that provides one-on-one support to young people aged 10 to 17 involved with youth justice living in the south-west metropolitan area.
Young people are referred to the program by the Southwest Metro Youth Justice Service to help them identify goals and improve their lives through mentoring.
How We Help
Mentors support young people by helping them build important life skills, such as:
- Attending Court
- Conflict Resolution
- Engagement and support in linking with local sports/ health programs
- Money Management
- Personal Development
- Youth Housing
- Family or Social Relationships
- Substance use and harm reduction
- Health and Wellbeing / Mental and Sexual
- Education, training, and employment
Culturally Safe Support
Mentors ensure support is culturally respectful and safe.
Access to an Aboriginal Cultural Advisor is provided to ensure culture is respected, supported, and celebrated.
