Native Plant Subsidy

Subsidy overview

Native plants provide natural food sources and shelter for native animals, are waterwise, and can help cool your home naturally. To support the creation of waterwise gardens, the City of Cockburn offers native plant subsidies to both residents and schools.

Resident Native Plant Subsidy

Residents can purchase subsidised native seedlings in forestry tubes from local nursery Apace in the month of May. This initiative supports the City of Cockburn's Climate Change Strategy.

Choosing Waterwise native plants not only beautifies your garden but also provides essential habitat for native animals and pollinators. These plants are adapted to Perth’s climate, requiring less water and maintenance, and they help naturally cool your home and garden.

The subsidy is a fantastic opportunity for residents to contribute to a more sustainable and biodiverse local environment.
