About free home eco-audits

Want to reduce your energy and water bills? The City of Cockburn offers a limited number of free home check-ups in Cockburn each year. Successful applicants can receive tailored advice on energy, water and waste to help reduce household electricity, gas and water bills. One audit per household.

A home sustainability advisor will check:

  • Reticulation
  • Hot water
  • Fridges and pools/spas are working efficiently
  • Standby loads
  • Heating and cooling and suggest improvements
  • Give tips on future eco-renovations.

As well as the check-up, you can receive bonus installation of free eco hardware in your home or a ‘Twin Bin’ compost setup valued at over $60.

Please note: home energy ratings are not included in this free service. If you would like more information about gaining a home energy rating please visit Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS).

Eligibility

Applicants must be residents, tenants or owner/occupier in the City of Cockburn. Applications are invited all year round, however only one audit per house.

The City invites interested residents to email us with your interest in a home eco audit.

DIY Home Energy Assessment Toolkit

You can measure your own home energy consumption easily with our Home Energy Assessment Tool kits (HEAT kits). These kits are available for loan from Cockburn Libraries. Please contact your local library to book one now.
