Artzplace

Artzplace is a vibrant community of visual artists offering a variety of activities including annual exhibitions, workshops, and art retreats for members.

Cockburn Community and Cultural Council

This council serves as an umbrella for several art and cultural groups, promoting collaborative cultural activities.

  • Meetings: Fourth Thursday of each month at 7.30pm, Old Council Chambers, Hamilton Hill

Historical Society of Cockburn

The Society manages the Azelia Ley Homestead Museum, a focal point for local historical activities.

Cockburn Creatives Artists Database

The City of Cockburn is developing a database to connect with artists who live and work in the area. Our goal is to foster a vibrant creative community, promoting opportunities for dialogue and collaboration. We welcome all artists, from painters and poets to puppeteers and beyond. From community fairs to commemorative events, Cockburn hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year:

  • Harmony Day (March): Celebrating cultural diversity
  • Coogee Live (March): Celebration of all things Cockburn along the coast
    Mosaic Street Festival (April): A showcase of global cultures
  • Show Off Art Exhibition (April): A display of local artistic talent at Memorial Hall
  • ANZAC Day (25 April): Memorial services at Memorial Hall
  • Reconciliation Week (May): Honouring shared histories and cultures
  • Heritage Week (June): Exploring local history from Foundation Day to the following Sunday
  • NAIDOC Week (Early July): Celebrating Indigenous culture and achievements
  • Hiroshima Day (Early August): Reflecting on peace and history
  • Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair (Last Sunday in October): Community fun and festivities.
