To report a lost dog or cat please contact us on 08 9411 3444. Our Community Safety and Ranger Services team will take details and add the description of the lost pet to the City's Lost Animal Register. Descriptions of lost pets are then compared to currently impounded cats and dogs.
Impounded animals can only be collected by appointment with a Ranger. Owners must schedule an appointment to ensure a Ranger is available for the release.
Make an appointment to collect your pet by calling our rangers on 08 9411 3444
To attend your appointment, visit the Operations Centre, 52 Wellard Street, Bibra Lake (remember to bring payment for fees and photo ID)
Pay applicable fees (see below) prior to release of your pet.
Please note: You cannot attend the Operations Centre to collect your pet without an appointment
Please note: Your pet cannot be released if it is not microchipped and registered Microchipping is currently conducted at a vet offsite. Owners need to allow additional time after the pound release appointment to follow the Ranger to the City's chosen vet clinic for implanation.
Cats and dogs are not rehomed directly from the animal pound. Where possible, unclaimed animals are rehomed by a registered and reputable animal rehoming service who can ensure:
The animal will be assessed by a vet, vaccinated and sterilised
The animal can be matched to a new owner appropriately
The property can be inspected and assessed.
It is rare for animals to be euthanised, unless:
It is overly aggressive and behaviour retraining is not an option
Health and injuries determine it is the best option for the animal.
