Designated areas for off-road vehicle and motorbike use
There are no permitted public areas designated for off-road vehicle use in the City of Cockburn. However, the
Coastal Park Motorcycle Club provides one of the best tracks for off-road motorbikes in Western Australia.
The nearest off-road facility is the Medina Off-Road area within the City of Kwinana. Rules and regulations apply. Refer to the
City of Kwinana website for further information.
Using off-road vehicles and motorbikes on private land
Off-road trail bikes, motorbikes and vehicles can only be used on private land where there isn't an issue with local health laws, such as noise or dust. You must also make sure you have the owner's or occupier's consent.
Rules for using off-road vehicles and motorbikes
Using or riding off-road vehicles on Council managed land is strictly prohibited and can result in infringements or Court prosecution. This also applies to private land where no consent has been given by the owner or tenant to operate on the property.
Riding off-road motorcycles on the road when they are not road licensed is an offence under the Road Traffic Act and is a Police matter carrying significant penalties.

Private property issues
Off-road vehicles are allowed on Private Property by consent of the owner (conditional). Suspected operation without consent can be reported to CoSafe as per the above contact details.
Trail bikes on roads
Contact the Police Assistance Centre on 131 444.
Motorbikes/motorscooters/trail bikes on main roads, freeways or on principal shared paths
Contact Police if the incident is occuring now and/or is causing danger – report the incident to the Police Assistance Centre on 131 444 or report via Crime Stoppers either online or by phoning 1800 333 000. Ensure you provide as much information as possible.
Important notes about making a report
CoSafe is not authorised to deal with motorbike issues but can attend after hours to provide a deterrent or to obtain evidence that may identify the offenders.
Please pay attention to identifying information such as colour of bikes, helmets, possible addresses, registration plates, or peculiar markings that will assist in detecting these parties. Rider descriptions such as clothing and footwear worn can also be useful for identification.
Please also note the time and day you observed illegal motorbike activity.
