About the event

Have questions about trees in your area? Pop into Spearwood Library and have a chat with staff from the sustainability and planning teams. Find out how planning for trees can benefit your home, street, and community:

  • What is the Urban Forest Strategy and how will it benefit your house, street, and suburb?
  • What does a tree protection policy mean for your block and its future?
  • How can you build around trees if you're purchasing a vacant block?
  • Tips for building around trees when extending your house or subdividing your block.
Come by anytime during the session to chat with our knowledgeable staff and get your questions answered!

About the WA Tree Festival

Trees are crucial for wildlife – they provide shelter, food, and habitats for countless species, all while helping to cool our environment and improve our wellbeing. The WA Tree Festival brings together local councils and community groups across the state to celebrate the vital role trees play in supporting wildlife.

In the lead-up to and throughout the festival, we’re hosting events and initiatives focused on greening Cockburn and protecting local wildlife.

The WA Tree Festival runs from 12 April to 10 May across WA.

From raising awareness about how trees support wildlife to creating connections with nature, discover an event near you and help make a difference for our local wildlife!
