About the event

Take a peaceful, self-guided walk through Baler Reserve and discover our pop-up tree trail, filled with fascinating tree facts! Share your own fun fact along the way for a chance to win a tree.

This short 700m loop around the reserve and boardwalk offers a relaxed stroll while learning more about the environment.

For those wanting a longer walk, cross the road and continue exploring Christmas Tree Park.

Enjoy the trail at your own pace, and keep an eye out for the resident Fairy Wrens flitting through this patch of remnant bushland. During the wetter months, the boardwalk takes you across an ephemeral wetland, where frogs are plentiful.

About the WA Tree Festival

Trees are crucial for wildlife – they provide shelter, food, and habitats for countless species, all while helping to cool our environment and improve our wellbeing. The WA Tree Festival brings together local councils and community groups across the state to celebrate the vital role trees play in supporting wildlife.

In the lead-up to and throughout the festival, we’re hosting events and initiatives focused on greening Cockburn and protecting local wildlife.

The WA Tree Festival runs from 12 April to 10 May across WA.

From raising awareness about how trees support wildlife to creating connections with nature, discover an event near you and help make a difference for our local wildlife!
