About the event

Hollows are Homes! Did you know natural tree hollows can take over a century to form?! Along with protecting our trees and planting more, nest boxes are a fantastic way to provide homes, shelter, and nesting resources for Perth's unique wildlife—and you can make a real difference right in your backyard!

Join the ReWild Perth team and special guest Simon Cherriman from the Re-Cyc-Ology Project for a fun and hands-on Nest Box Workshop. Learn about the importance of hollows, how we can support local wildlife in our communities, and then roll up your sleeves to help build nest boxes under expert guidance.

Materials and tools provided — just bring your enthusiasm!

Two nest boxes will be donated to local governments and community groups to expand habitat support.
Six lucky participants will win a nest box to take home in a raffle!

Spaces are limited, so grab your ticket now and help us create a brighter future for Perth’s wildlife. Together, we can make hollows happen!

About the WA Tree Festival

Trees are crucial for wildlife – they provide shelter, food, and habitats for countless species, all while helping to cool our environment and improve our wellbeing. The WA Tree Festival brings together local councils and community groups across the state to celebrate the vital role trees play in supporting wildlife.

In the lead-up to and throughout the festival, we’re hosting events and initiatives focused on greening Cockburn and protecting local wildlife.

The WA Tree Festival runs from 12 April to 10 May across WA.

From raising awareness about how trees support wildlife to creating connections with nature, discover an event near you and help make a difference for our local wildlife!
