About the event

Join the City of Cockburn's Sustainability and Climate Change team for a day of discovery in your local area!

These school holidays, join us for a morning of discovery at beautiful Lake Coogee! April is the perfect time to explore this semi-salty lake and learn what makes it so unique to Cockburn. 

Sign up for a guided walk or simply drop by for a coffee and a chat with the passionate team who cares for this special spot.
Find us at the Lake Coogee Nature Discovery Day marquee, near 181-205 Fawcett Road, Munster. 

Activities on the day include:

  • Colouring-in activities available throughout the morning
  • 8.30-10.30am FREE coffee from the Friends of the Community coffee van.

Spaces for these activities are limited, so secure your spot by registering early!. If events are sold out please contact the City to join the waitlist.

Time Activity About Ages Registrations
7.30-9am Guided walk  Join the City’s friendly bush maintenance team for a morning walk to visit the Lake Coogee bird hide. Get to know the reserve and meet the knowledgeable people behind its upkeep! This is a 2.5km walk on sealed paths, some fitness is required. All ages Register here
9-10.30am Nature Storytime Trek Explore the wonders of nature through stories, bushwalking tips, and sensory exploration for under 5s. It’s a fun-filled experience that combines the magic of storytelling with the beauty of the great outdoors. 2-5 years Register here
10.30-11.30am Boodjar Biddi (Bush Track) cultural walk Learn about Nyungar perspectives on nature, wildlife, and the relationship between humans and the environment. All ages Register here
11.30am-1pm Drop in Eco-Art Eco-art with Ariane, get hands on with nature and make your own nature inspired creatures. All ages This is a drop in session, no registration needed
