Ballot papers have been drawn for the 16 October election

This afternoon, WA Electoral Commission Returning Officer Linda Scott conducted a draw to determine candidate positions on ballot papers for the upcoming City of Cockburn ordinary election on Saturday 16 October.

There are five councillor vacancies across the City’s three wards, plus the role of Mayor, with 19 candidates putting their hands up for a chance to fill the roles.
 
There is one vacancy in the East ward and two each in the West and Central wards.
 
Councillors and the Mayor are elected for terms of four years and are determined by the votes of Cockburn’s electors.
 
The elections are conducted as a Postal Ballot and eligible electors can expect to receive their voting packages in the mail by late September.
 
Candidates for the role of Mayor, and their ballot paper positions:
  • Davies, Christopher - No 1 on the ballot paper
  • Eva, Philip - No 2 on the ballot paper
  • Stone, Chontelle - No 3 on the ballot paper
  • Separovich, Michael - No 4 on the ballot paper
  • Howlett, Logan (incumbent) - No 5 on the ballot paper  

Candidates for the East Ward, and their ballot paper positions:
  • Greenwood, Stephen - No 1 on the ballot paper
  • Mironenko, Igor - No 2 on the ballot paper
  • Dewan, Tarun - No 3 on the ballot paper
  • Hoe, Voon Kim (Peter) - No 4 on the ballot paper
  • De Silva, Angela - No 5 on the ballot paper

Candidates for the West Ward, and their ballot paper positions:
  • Michael, Separovich (incumbent) - No 1 on the ballot paper
  • Cohen, Michelle - No 2 on the ballot paper
  • Thomas, Shaun - No 3 on the ballot paper
  • Fineberg, Michael - No 4 on the ballot paper
  • Eva, Hunter - No 5 on the ballot paper
  • Allen, Kevin (incumbent) - No 6 on the ballot paper
  • Chris, Davies - No 7 on the ballot paper
  • Ahmed, Syed - No 8 on the ballot paper

Candidates for the Central Ward, and their ballot paper positions:
  • Zarins, Bradley - No 1 on the ballot paper
  • Eva, Philip (incumbent) - No 2 on the ballot paper
  • Stone, Chontelle (incumbent) - No 3 on the ballot paper
  • Allen, Gary - No 4 on the ballot paper
  • Zhang, Lechun (Carol) – No 5 on the ballot paper
