Local Emergency Services Volunteers

There are two volunteer bush fire brigades in the City of Cockburn, made up of local volunteers who respond to Triple Zero (000) emergency calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The brigade volunteers use their knowledge of the local area to help reduce the risk of bushfires. They carry out activities like planned burns designed specifically to lower the chance of severe bushfire outbreaks on City of Cockburn land and private properties.

They also undertake community engagement and awareness initiatives, including PR events and bush fire preparedness workshops for residents, and respond to state-wide and interstate incidents when required.
