This afternoon, WA Electoral Commission (WAEC) Returning Officer Bob Searle conducted a draw to determine candidate positions on ballot papers for the upcoming City of Cockburn ordinary election on 19 October.
21 candidates put their hands up to fill four vacant councillor positions on Cockburn Council, two positions in the East ward and one each in the West and Central wards. Councillors are elected for terms of four years.
The elections will be run by the WAEC as a postal vote and while voting is not compulsory, eligible electors are encouraged to participate in this important process.
Candidates for the

* Tarun, Dewan - No 6 on the ballot paper
* Blyth, Stephen - No 7 on the ballot paper
* Kirkwood, Lara (incumbent) - No 8 on the ballot paper
* Greenwood, Stephen - No 9 on the ballot paper

* Corke, Phoebe - No 2 on the ballot paper
