About the event
Connecting defence and First Nations businesses in the City of Cockburn
The Defence Supplier Yarn is hosted by the City of Cockburn, in partnership with the Waalitj Hub, Henderson Alliance and sponsored by Babcock and Adisyn. This groundbreaking event aims to introduce local First Nations businesses to Western Australia’s booming defence industry.
The defence sector is gaining in prominence and importance in the City of Cockburn, and Henderson is poised to become a global centre for maritime defence and shipbuilding. There is a huge opportunity for local First Nations businesses to establish a strong presence in local defence supply chains.
The Defence Supplier Yarn is an opportunity for:
- Defence industry businesses to gain access to specialised products and services and increase the number of First Nations suppliers in their supply chain
- First Nations businesses to gain visibility, build relationships and collaborate with key decision-makers in an industry worth $3 billion a year to WA
- The City of Cockburn business community and defence industry supply chains to network and build stronger relationships.
