City adds two new members to executive team

The City of Cockburn is excited to announce two accomplished new members of the Executive team.

Carissa Bywater has been announced the new Director of Corporate and System Services and Kylie Johnson will join the City as Director of Community and Place.

CEO Daniel Simms said a comprehensive recruitment process had identified the women as leaders with a wealth of experience that would help Cockburn continue to be the best place to be.

“We extend a warm City of Cockburn welcome to both Carissa and Kylie,” Mr Simms said.

“Their leadership, vision, and dedication will undoubtedly propel Cockburn to new heights of innovation and collaboration, making a significant and positive impact on our community.”

Carissa’s esteemed career in local government includes CEO and Director roles across Australia. She has a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Leadership, and is a CPA Australia member.

Carissa’s strategic acumen and dedication to innovation will undoubtedly enrich our council, driving us towards continued growth and excellence.

Kylie's impressive background includes transformative leadership at the City of Perth, where she spearheaded initiatives across Community Services, Arts & Culture, Events, Amenity & Safety, and Customer Experience.

She has a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting, a Diploma in Company Directorship, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business (HR Management) and was recognised with the Innovative Management Award in Local Government.
