Thursday 20 March:
Maureen Fisher-Sim, the great-granddaughter of the driving force behind Cockburn’s century-old Memorial Hall, will lead celebrations for the building’s anniversary milestone on Friday.

A raft of activities planned to celebrate its birth from humble but determined beginnings with the laying of foundation stones at the former lime kiln site on 21 March 1925.

The Department of Health confirmed the virus was found in a traveller who had returned from a trip to Pakistan. They had visited several public places, including in Jandakot, Yangebup and the paediatric waiting area at Fiona Stanley Hospital’s emergency department, while infectious between March 12 and March 17.

There are calls for the state to intervene as snake-necked turtles face local extinction in Cockburn.
Cockburn Council has signalled its intent to increase funding for fox control to improve protections for native wildlife including Southwestern Snake-Necked Turtles at lakes and wetlands managed by the City.

Two teenagers and a 25-year-old Perth man have been charged after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase through the city’s southern suburbs in a stolen car on Monday.
The police air wing helicopter was called in and tracked the car as it allegedly sped through Cockburn, Bibra Lake, Murdoch and South Lake.
