Under Section 17 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, the City will extend the Prohibited Burning time for 14 days from 0001 hrs on 1 April to 2359 hrs on the 14 April 2025.

The new Public Waste Drop-Off service on Dalison avenue is closed on Wednesdays.
On Thursday 20 February, the public waste drop-off moved to Dalison Avenue.
The reuse shop will be closed on Sundays. The shop is still open Friday and Saturday.

On 14 April 2020, the Director General of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (the Department) authorised an inquiry into the City of Cockburn (the Inquiry) in accordance with section 8.3(2) of the Local Government Act 1995. Council have resolved to publish the City of Cockburn Inquiry Action Report to inform the community of the decisions made by Council following the recommendations made in the Inquiry report. Council have also endorsed the publication of the Governance Review Management Report to demonstrate the review process of the Independent Governance Review undertaken by the City, on recommendation from the Department. The City of Cockburn Inquiry Action Report will be updated as actions are completed.
