Food handlers must possess adequate food safety skills and knowledge when preparing food for sale. Find out about training available for food handlers.
If you're preparing food for sale, it's essential to be well-versed in food safety.
The City’s Health Officers regularly assess food handlers' knowledge on topics such as safe food temperature, hand hygiene, stock control, and cleaning and sanitising methods. They also observe staff skills during inspections.
A new National Food Safety Standard, 3.2.2A – Food Safety Management Tools, has been introduced across Australia to improve food safety and prevent foodborne illness.
