The City of Cockburn will be undertaking road resurfacing works on Carrington Street, Hamilton Hill, between Winterfold Road and Healy Road. To minimize disruption to traffic, these works will be conducted at night from Monday 27 January to Saturday 1February between 6pm and 5am.
Traffic Management
During these hours, Carrington Street will be closed to through traffic. Access will be maintained for local residents accessing their properties within the closure area. However, please note that immediately after asphalt is laid, access to that specific area will be temporarily restricted for approximately two hours to allow the asphalt to set. This timeframe will be determined at the contractor’s discretion.
We kindly request that residents avoid on-street parking during the work hours to facilitate efficient completion. Food deliveries will not be permitted within the closed section as they are not considered local traffic.
Equipment and Noise
The following equipment and machinery may be used during the works:
- Profiler
- Asphalt Paver
- Vibratory Roller
- Delivery trucks
- Hand-operated compaction equipment
- Small generator
- Light vehicles
Works will be carried out progressively, and every effort will be made to minimize noise. Equipment will be selected to produce the minimum inherent output noise and will be in good repair. The roller will operate on low vibration as an additional noise management measure. Due to the nature of the work, shielding of equipment will not be possible.
Resident Information
- Watering: If this is your scheduled watering day/night, please ensure your reticulation does not flow onto the road, as this may cause delays.
- New Asphalt: For 48 hours after completion, please avoid sharply turning your vehicle wheels on the newly laid asphalt to prevent damage.
