Cockburn Seniors Centre hosts a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses. Please see our current timetable (ongoing regular classes and activities) and activities guide (short courses, events and outings).

About the Cockburn Seniors Centre

The Cockburn Seniors Centre is a membership based centre for people aged 50 and over who live within the City of Cockburn.
It provides a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses . These include:

  • Meals - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at midday (pre-order before 10am)

  • Café - Tuesday and Thursday 9am –1pm. (Orders from 8.30am until 12.45pm)

  • Services - a centre-based hairdresser and naturopath (available by appointment)

  • Transport - a van shuttle service is available for members who are transport disadvantaged - bookings required (assessed service)

  • Computer Room - computers/iPads and free WiFi available for members to use.

 The Seniors Centre offers scrumptious meals to members and non-members (see below for non-members definitions). Find out what's on offer by visiting the menu page.

Non-members Definitions:
Casual Visitor - Person who lives within the City of Cockburn boundaries and is over the age of 50 who pays a casual visit fee.
Member Guest - Person who lives outside the City of Cockburn boundaries, is over the age of 50 and attends the Centre with a current member who pays a casual visit fee
House Guest - Person who does not reside within the City of Cockburn boundaries and is staying with a current member who pays a casual visit fee.


Become a member 

Memberships will re-open to Cockburn Seniors Centre on 1 July 2025 at a fee of $51.50.
Memberships run from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.

Members enjoy access to:

  • Centre activities that range from free to up to a maximum of $14 per class

  • Outings (prices vary)

  • Meals $14 for two courses, plus tea/coffee and/or main course only $11.

  • Interactive Table Top Games.

Outings

Outings Booking Conditions

  • Outings are available for members only

  • Payment must be made at time of booking for all outings

  • Bookings can be made for a maximum of two people (yourself and one other member) (full name is required of the member you are booking on behalf of)

  • Apologies, but cancellations cannot be refunded.

Crown Casino

  • Friday 1 August

  • 9am - 3pm

  • Outing cost - $16

  • Low to moderate walking involved.

Take a trip to the Casino to enjoy each other’s company and take in the ambience of the Casino surroundings. Purchase your lunch from the variety of food outlets on offer at the Crown. Please gamble responsibly. Have a great time.

Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Reserve / Avocado’s Bar & Cafe

  • Tuesday 5 August

  • 9.30am - 3pm

  • Outing cost - $63.50

  • High walking involved

Enjoy a tour of the Kaarakin Reserve, where they help rescue wild black cockatoos and other native birds that are in distress and hurt. Please wear long sleeved shirts, long pants and enclosed shoes and a jumper. Wearing jewellery is not recommended as the birds are attracted to the sparkly items. Lunch will be at Avocados Bar and Bistro where you will enjoy a selection of delicious food, while sitting back and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

(1) Fish, chips and salad
(2) Mini steak with chips and salad
(3) Chicken parmigiana with chips and salad
(4) Cheeseburger with chips
Includes: Bowl of ice cream with tea or coffee


Belmont Races & Lunch

  • Wednesday 6 August

  • 10.45am - 5pm

  • Outing cost - $74

  • Low to moderate walking involved

Enjoy a day out at the races with a delicious 2 course meal in the member’s dining room looking out over the racecourse while you watch your favourite horse race.

Set Menu:
Entrée: Soup of the day & bread roll
Main: Mahogany Creek chicken supreme, chive pomme puree, roasted broccolini, jus gras


Lunch at the Ravenswood Hotel

  • Tuesday 12 August

  • 10.45am - 2.30pm

  • Outing cost - $16

  • Low walking involved

Enjoy lunch at the Ravenswood Hotel near the Murray River taking in the beautiful surroundings while enjoying delicious food. Ravenswood

Bunbury Adventure        

  • Wednesday 13 August

  • 8am - 5pm

  • Outing cost - $16

  • High walking involved

Enjoy a day out in Bunbury. Have free time in the town, then you will be able to purchase your own lunch from a variety of Cafes and Hotels in the city centre. We will then be stopping at the Bunbury Farmer’s Market where you will find a variety of local farmer’s fresh produce to purchase, or just have a wander.

Kings Park Wildflowers       

  • Monday 18 August

  • 10am - 2.30pm

  • Outing cost - $16

  • High walking involved

Kings Park is both one of the world's largest and most beautiful inner-city parks and is also a rich cultural heritage site. It is home to the spectacular Western Australian Botanic Gardens, which display over 3,000 species of the state's unique flora - a sight unlike anywhere else in the world. There’s a choice of cafes, bushland walk trails, immaculate gardens and a variety of wildflowers. Purchase your lunch while you are there from one of the cafes at Kings Park.

Mundaring Weir &  Mundaring Hotel    

  • Thursday 21 August

  • 8.30am - 3.30pm

  • Outing cost - $45

  • High walking involved

We will first stop at the Dome Café where you can purchase your own morning tea before heading off to Mundaring. Enjoy the fresh air and a leisurely walk around the Mundaring Weir, a concrete gravity dam located 39 kilometres from Perth, in the Darling Scarp. The dam and reservoir form the boundary between the suburbs of Reservoir and Sawyers Valley and impounds the Helena River. We will then head to lunch at the Mundaring Hotel.

Toodyay / Victoria Hotel   

  • Wednesday 27 August

  • 8am - 4.30pm

  • Outing cost - $47

  • Moderate to high walking involved

Arriving at Toodyay city centre, enjoy morning tea at the Toodyay Bakery or one of the cafés for a coffee and a cake. Partake in a little bit of shopping and then off to the Victoria Hotel for a delicious lunch.

Lunch Option:
(1) Fish, chips and salad
(2) Curry of the day with rice
(3) Chicken parmigiana with chips and salad
(4) Vegetarian pasta
Includes: Dessert of the day with a tea or coffee
