About the event
Did you know Cockburn’s wetlands are home to the near threatened species of Snake-necked Turtle? As part of the Save our Snake-necked Turtle Citizen Science project and in preparation for the upcoming turtle nesting season we’re holding a community information and education session.
Community information session
Learn about our native turtles, why they are threatened, what the City is doing and how you can help!
Turtle Tracker training session
Those who want to do more can stay on to learn how to become a turtle tracker. You’ll learn to record turtle and nest sightings and how to protect nesting females on the move and their nests.
Light refreshments provided and registrations essential.
