If you're 50 and over, you'd love what's on offer at the Cockburn Seniors Centre. Take a look, we think you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Cockburn Seniors Centre hosts a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses. Please see our current timetable (ongoing regular classes and activities) and activities guide (short courses, events and outings).

About the Cockburn Seniors Centre

The Cockburn Seniors Centre is a membership based centre for people aged 50 and over who live within the City of Cockburn.
It provides a range of recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses . These include:

  • Meals - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at midday (pre-order before 10am)
  • Café - Tuesday and Thursday 9am –1pm. (orders from 8.30am until 12.45pm)
  • Services - a centre-based hairdresser and naturopath (available by appointment)
  • Transport - a van shuttle service is available for members who are transport disadvantaged - bookings required (assessed service)
  • Computer Room - computers/iPads and free WiFi available for members to use.

Become a member 

Membership to Cockburn Seniors Centre is $50 for one year. Memberships run from 1 July 2024 - 30 June 2025.

Members enjoy access to:

  • Centre activities that range from free to up to a maximum of $10 per class
  • Outings (prices vary)
  • Meals $13 for two courses, plus tea/coffee and/or main course only $10.

Outings Booking Conditions

  • Outings are available for members only
  • Payment must be made at time of booking for all outings
  • Bookings can be made for a maximum of two people (yourself and one other member) (full name is required of the member you are booking on behalf of)
  • Apologies, but cancellations cannot be refunded.

Carousel Shopping Centre

  • Outing Cost - $10
  • Low to moderate walking involved.    

Enjoy a relaxing day out at Carousel Shopping Centre. Shop until your hearts content with all the shopping outlets providing a great variety for all to see. Purchase your lunch from one of the many food establishments in the food court. Happy shopping!

Grease the Musical – Crown Casino (SOLD OUT)

Join The Basilio’s as they pay tribute to two of the world’s greatest crooners, Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin! Carlos and Paul Basilio are brothers who have spent their whole lives singing alongside each other, perfecting their voices and giving songs they love The Basilio flair! Just like Frank and Dean, Carlos and Paul bring their natural brotherly banter to the stage to keep you entertained! Sing along to your favourite tunes such as ‘Fly Me to the Moon’, ‘That’s Amore’ and more! Our lunch venue is at the King Road Brewery Co with a selection of delicious food to choose from their menu.

Quindanning Hotel -Christmas In July

  • Low to moderate walking involved.    

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Quindanning Hotel and on arrival enjoy country baked scones, jam and cream with tea or coffee for morning tea. We will be enjoying a delicious festive three-course Christmas lunch, sitting around a warm fire and tasting mulled wine.

Main:     Roast of the day with seasonal roast and steamed vegetables
Dessert: Christmas pudding with brandy custard and ice cream

Crown Casino

  • Low to moderate walking involved.   

Take a trip to the Casino to enjoy each other’s company, take in the ambience of the casino surroundings. Please gamble responsibly. Have a great time.

Lake Leschenaultia / Chidlow Tavern

  • Tuesday 6 August
  • 8am - 5pm
  • Outing Cost - $37.50
  • Moderate to high walking involved.   

Stopping at Mundaring Dome Café where you will be able to purchase your own morning tea. Then off to Lake Leschenaultia a well-known man-made lake constructed c.1897 as key infrastructure for the Western Australian Government Railways. It is the largest reservoir constructed on the Eastern Railway line and supplied the water to steam trains for almost 50 years. Then we will dine at the Chidlow Tavern soaking up the country atmosphere.

Kings Park Wildflowers

Kings Park is both one of the world's largest and most beautiful inner-city parks and is also a rich cultural heritage site. It is home to the spectacular Western Australian Botanic Gardens, which display over 3,000 species of the state's unique flora - a sight unlike anywhere else in the world. With a choice of cafes, bushland walk trails, immaculate gardens and a variety of wildflowers. Purchase your lunch while you are there from one of the cafes at Kings Park.

Bentley Pines Training Restaurant

The award-winning Bentley Pines Training Restaurant at South Metropolitan TAFE is a live, interactive training environment for students preparing for work in the hospitality industry.

Cirque Du Soleil

Arriving at the Claremont Hotel where you can purchase a bite to eat before the show, then we will head to the Claremont Showgrounds to watch the show. LUZIA is a vibrant journey through an imaginary Mexico, blending breathtaking acrobatics with stunning visuals, from urban sets to deserts and oceans, showcasing Mexico's rich heritage and modern allure. Refreshing and unexpected, LUZIA enchants by artistically incorporating water into the acrobatic presentation – a first for a Cirque du Soleil touring production.

Guildford Taxidermy Museum / Guildford Hotel

Enjoy a tour of the Guildford Taxidermy Museum – Michael, the taxidermist, is renowned as one of Australia’s leading taxidermists. He specializes in the mounting of all animal trophies (birds, mammals and reptiles) and all marine life including crayfish. Particular areas of interest are endangered Australian fauna, with more than 2,000 taxidermy items on display. The Academy of Taxidermy has one of the largest privately owned collections of taxidermy in Australia. You will then enjoy lunch at the Guildford Hotel to relax and catch up.
