The aim of the City's Emergency Management Plans are to prepare for any possible emergency affecting the City of Cockburn community.
The City’s Emergency Risk Management Plan describe emergencies that are likely to occur, defines roles and responsibilities within the community, list resources, and coordinate operations and activities. The Plan also identifies any agreements between local governments and emergency management agencies.
The process of preparing emergency management arrangements enables a community to identify potential problems and develop possible solutions. It will enable a community to react faster and more effectively, especially during the critical early hours of an emergency.
The Cockburn Bushfire Risk Management Plan 2023-2028 provides a framework for identifying, assessing, and managing bushfire risk within the City of Cockburn. The plan enables the City of Cockburn to identify key areas and assets at risk of bushfire and recommends actions to respond to those risks. The Plan outlines a tier level treatment strategy, Fire Control Order use on private and commercial land, and bushfire awareness through increased community engagement.
The City’s Animal Welfare Plan focuses on the efficient and effective management of animals, and coordination of animal welfare support services before, during and after an emergency event.
