Disability Access and Inclusion

The Disability Access and Inclusion Officer is the City's point of contact for information and advice about disability-related matters.
 
This includes:

  • Managing the City's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, which outlines how the City is working to improve access and inclusion across City services and facilities
  • Being a point of contact for the community to obtain information relating to access and inclusion matters
  • Facilitating the Disability Reference Group (DRG) meetings with local people with disability and Disability Service Providers who have a passion for equality and working to enhance access and inclusion in Cockburn
  • Ensuring events within the City are more accessible and inclusive for all and hosting our annual event to celebrate all abilities
  • Provide opportunities for people with disability to participate in the community through programs and activities
  • Assisting and supporting people with disability to communicate their views, needs and ideas on access and inclusion in our community.

Equipment Hire

The City provides free hire of beach wheelchairs and beach walkers.
