KidSport and Sporting Clubs

KidSport

KidSport supports Western Australian children aged 5-18, participating in community sport and recreation activities. KidSport provides
up to $500 per financial year to assist with a child's sporting club fees. To be eligible, children must be listed on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

Eligibility Criteria
For a school-based team or P&C team to receive KidSport support, they must:

  • Be a Western Australian registered school or a P&C associated with a registered Western Australian school
  • Be entered into a community sporting program affiliated with the State Sporting Association
  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • The activity provided by the organisation must meet the Sport and Recreation (WA) definition of sport
  • Charge a membership fee for a minimum 8-week sport activity
  • Adhere to their obligations under the Working with Children Act 2004.

Sporting Schools

Sporting Schools is a school-based, $200 million Australian Government initiative, designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sporting opportunities. Sport Australia has partnered with more than 35 national sporting organisations to deliver sport before, during and after school hours.
 
Sporting Schools provides a program for primary schools and a targeted program for Year 7 and 8 students in secondary schools.
